Shraga Stern was born in Israel to American parents, instilling in him a deep connection to both his Jewish heritage and his commitment to the future of Jewish existence in Israel. He served with distinction in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), rising to the rank of Major after serving as a platoon and company commander in the Nachal Brigade.
In 2016, Shraga demonstrated exceptional bravery during hand-to-hand combat with a terrorist, where he was stabbed multiple times which almost led to his death. Despite this harrowing experience, he continues to serve as an active reserve officer, embodying the resilience and dedication to his men, to Jewish existence in Israel and to service in the IDF.
